The Internet and Cannabis- Best Thing Since Porn

Marijuana, even Medical Marijuana, is Federally illegal.

But free speech remains a pretty important liberty, and the Internet is core to that freedom. The Internet is perhaps the only true democracy.  What does this have to do with Cannabis?

Everything.

We are living at the birth of an industry.  An industry borne of the Internet.  That industry is Marijuana.  Chat rooms, groups, clubs, collectives, advice, grow tips, everything that anyone would want to know about this federally illegal substance is available online, legally.  Now that there are 16 states in the U.S. recognizing medical marijuana, there are locators, online stores, delivery operations and much more.  You can even order seeds online, and the rest is farming.

It is almost as if cannabis is using the Internet for propagation.
The Internet makes it possible for states to regulate, tax, license and enforce Medical Marijuana.  The same Internet allows patients to learn about what strains - and soon, personal testing profiles - work best for their particular ailment.

This is all being achieved without clinical trials, government oversight, or bureaucratic bull hon-key.  Individuals, just like you and I, voluntarily sharing our experiences and our effects;  learning from one another.

When the history books write about the end of prohibition for marijuana, they will note that social networks, marijuana locator websites and advanced tracking systems for seed to sale controls were all critical for humanity’s acceptance of this weed.
